Somalia (Dawan), 25 July 2026 — The federal government has called for an immediate end to the clan fighting in Dawaco, Badhan district, Sanaag region, urging warring parties to exercise restraint and seek dialogue.
In a statement, the Ministry of Interior, Federal Affairs and Reconciliation said it was closely monitoring the conflict between the communities fighting in the Dawaco area.
The ministry called on both sides to stop the fighting and gunfire and to refrain from any actions or statements that could further inflame the conflict. It also stressed that priority should be given to dialogue, mutual understanding and a lasting peaceful solution.

According to local media reports, the fighting continued for more than three hours. No casualties had been reported at the time of publication.
The ministry also called on traditional elders, religious leaders, women, young people, authorities at different levels and other community leaders to work together in peacebuilding efforts, bring the opposing sides closer and strengthen social unity.
