Somali FM Discusses Cooperative Initiatives with UN Deputy Special Representative

Mogadishu(Mogadishu24)-The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Somalia, Ahmed Moallim Fiqi Ahmed, held a significant meeting today with the Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General, Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator, Mr. George Conway. The meeting, which took place at the Ministry in Mogadishu, focused on enhancing cooperation, coordination, and joint efforts between Somalia and the United Nations.

During the discussions, both parties emphasized the importance of the technical teams' efforts from both sides and the development of a comprehensive strategy. This strategy aims to ensure a seamless transition from the United Nations Assistance Mission in Somalia (UNSOM) to a UN country office structure. The transition is expected to accelerate Somalia's progress towards prosperity, achieve its desired goals, and foster sustainable development.
