Mogadishu(Mogadishu24)-The Somali Minister of Education, Farah Sheikh Abdulkadir, met with the new U.S. Ambassador to Somalia, Richard H. Riley, to discuss ongoing collaboration and future initiatives in the education sector. Minister Abdulkadir warmly welcomed Ambassador Riley and expressed his gratitude for the continued support from the United States.
During the meeting, they highlighted the significant impact of U.S. support on Somalia's education sector. This year, USAID launched a five-year, $40 million initiative aimed at increasing access to basic education for over 67,000 out-of-school children and youth in Somalia.
Ambassador Riley reaffirmed the U.S. commitment to supporting Somalia's education sector and praised the collaborative efforts.
The meeting underscored the strong partnership between Somalia and the United States, focusing on enhancing educational opportunities and ensuring sustainable development in the region.
