Djibouti(Mogadishu24)-Somalia's Minister of Defense, Abdulkadir Mohamed Nur, is currently in Djibouti leading a high-level delegation, including Somalia’s Chief of Defense Forces, General Ibrahim Sheikh Mohudin, for discussions focused on strengthening military cooperation and advancing the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS).
Djibouti, one of the five countries contributing troops to ATMIS, plays a vital role in the region's peace and stability efforts.
The Somali delegation was received by Djibouti’s Prime Minister Abdoulkader Kamil Mohamed and Defense Minister Hassan Omar Mohamed.
Their meeting highlighted key areas of shared interest, including strategies for a smooth transition in the ATMIS mission and continued bilateral security cooperation. The discussions are part of regular consultations between the two nations, underscoring the long-standing brotherly ties and strategic partnership in safeguarding peace and stability in the Horn of Africa.
