Mogadishu (Dawan ) – Somali Disaster Management Authority Chairman Mohamud Moalim Abdulle hosted a Swedish delegation to discuss Somalia's disaster management preparedness, SoDMA said.
The Swedish delegation was led by the Deputy Head of the East and Horn of Africa Division at the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida), Annika Jayawardena,
The meeting focused on strengthening collaboration in disaster management, mitigating risks from potential hazards, and improving the country’s early warning systems.

The delegation also toured SoDMA’s Data Center to examine the collection, analysis, and dissemination of early warning information.
Abdulle praised the continued partnership with the Swedish Government and Sida, highlighting the support provided for enhancing Somalia’s disaster management capacities and building community resilience.
He emphasized that ongoing international cooperation is essential to improving disaster preparedness and ensuring effective responses to emergencies in Somalia.
