Kenya, 25 October 2025 - At least six people lost their lives on Saturday morning in a horrific crash in the Soy Sambu area of Gilgil, Nakuru County, along the Nairobi–Nakuru Highway.
The tragedy occurred around 4am when the Wing Road saloon car they were travelling in collided head-on with another vehicle, according to police.
The officers at the scene are probing the incident.
Two others sustained serious injuries and were rushed to hospital in critical condition.
Police reported that the driver of the Toyota Caldina was attempting to overtake when it rammed into an oncoming lorry.
The force of the impact claimed the lives of all six passengers in the saloon car instantly.
The wreckage of both vehicles was towed to Gilgil Police Station, and the bodies were taken to the Gilgil Sub-County Hospital Mortuary, pending identification by relatives.
This crash brought the total number of fatalities from separate accidents on Friday evening and Saturday morning to 10, with four others having perished in unrelated incidents on Friday, police confirmed.
