Kenya, 28 August 2026 - President William Ruto is presiding over the 149th Kenya Police Service pass-out parade at the National Police College in Kiganjo, Nyeri County, where 2,881 recruits are graduating after nine months of intensive training.
The group comprises 2,338 male and 543 female recruits who are now set to join the Kenya Police Service and be deployed to different stations, formations and units across the country.
The Kenya Police Service said the recruits were fully prepared for the ceremony, highlighting the discipline and precision displayed during their final preparations.
“Every detail matters. Every shine. Every step. Our Police Recruit Constables are ready for the pass-out parade at the National Police College Main Campus-Kiganjo. They are ready for service,” the service said in a post on X.
The ceremony has also brought hundreds of relatives and friends to Kiganjo to witness the recruits formally transition into police officers after months of demanding training.

In another message, the Kenya Police Service acknowledged the role played by families throughout the training period.
“Behind every Police Recruit Constable who walked through the gates of the National Police College Main Campus-Kiganjo, is a family that waited, prayed, encouraged and believed. Today, they walk out as Police Constables, ready to serve the nation,” it said.
The recruits' graduation comes after a series of final drills and rehearsals conducted at Kiganjo ahead of the ceremony.
Their entry into the service is expected to strengthen the police workforce and provide additional manpower for policing operations across the country.
