Kenya, 2 June 2026 - Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale has hailed President William Ruto's administration for 'liberation' of Kenya's North Eastern region.
Speaking in Kotulo after accompanying the head of state on a development tour, Duale said years of marginalisation, neglect and elusive development opportunities are being reversed through sustained government investments and inclusive policies.
“Previous leaders of this nation refused to build this road connecting Garissa to Mandera. Getting IDs we were subjected to unnecessary vetting. They had refused to invest in our schools,” claimed the vocal CS.
Duale noted that it is in the scriptures to return favour to anyone who does good things for you saying President Ruto has unlike other Presidents spent nights in the region.
The former Garissa Township lawmaker cited Garissa-Tana River bridge, the Garissa reopening of passport office which he said was closed by Uhuru Kenyatta’s government and massive investment on roads, Wajir stadium, and removing of vetting as some of Ruto's development projects in the region.
Mohamed Shidiye, the Garissa Gubernatorial aspirant said he schooled with President Ruto at the University of Nairobi.
"President Ruto is the most hardworking President Kenya have ever had," Shidiye said.
He said as leaders in the region, they will compete with other seats but ensure President Ruto gets all the votes.

This he said is as a result of development in the region.
“Majority of people here have not voted for you but you have a lot for them, same as those who voted for you. For us, we will mobilise our people and assure you your second term,” he said.
President Ruto has concluded his three day development tour in which he also presided over the Madaraka Day national celebrations which were held at the newly built Wajir stadium.
President Ruto noted that he is keen in ensuring that the region is developed and apologised for years of neglect and marginalisation by the past government.
