Kenya, May 13 ,2026 - Passengers travelling between Nairobi and Dubai will once again be able to fly directly after Kenya Airways announced the return of its Dubai route from May 14.
In a customer update released on Wednesday, the national carrier said it will resume daily flights between the two cities, bringing relief to business travellers, tourists and cargo operators affected by the temporary suspension of services.
“We wish to inform our customers that flights to and from Dubai will resume on 14th May 2026,” Kenya Airways said.
The airline added that it would begin with one daily flight before gradually increasing frequencies based on demand and operational needs.
“We will operate daily frequencies between Nairobi and Dubai, with additional frequencies to be introduced progressively in line with demand and operational requirements,” the statement added.
Dubai remains one of Kenya Airways’ busiest international routes, serving as a major connection point for passengers travelling to Asia, the Middle East and Europe.
The route is also important for trade and cargo movement between Kenya and the Gulf region.

As operations resume, the airline said safety remains a key focus.
“The safety of our guests and crew remains our top priority, and we continue to work closely with the relevant authorities to ensure safe and seamless operations,” KQ said.
The reopening of the route is expected to ease travel disruptions for passengers who had been forced to seek alternative connections in recent weeks.
Kenya Airways also advised customers seeking bookings or travel assistance to use the airline’s website, mobile application and customer support channels.
