Spain, 25 July 2026 - Real Madrid are preparing a fresh offer worth more than €100 million for RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande, after their opening proposal was rejected by the Bundesliga club. The Spanish giants have identified the 19-year-old Ivory Coast international as one of their top transfer targets following his outstanding breakthrough season and impressive performances at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The transfer saga has quickly become one of the biggest stories of the summer, with Paris Saint-Germain also pushing hard to sign the highly rated winger. While PSG have reportedly reached an agreement on personal terms with the player, negotiations with RB Leipzig have stalled, opening the door for Real Madrid to make a decisive move.
According to multiple reports, Real Madrid's initial bid totaled €100 million, structured as €90 million guaranteed plus €10 million in add-ons. RB Leipzig rejected the proposal, insisting it falls short of the player's valuation.
The Spanish club are now expected to submit an improved offer that exceeds the €100 million mark in an effort to convince Leipzig to sell one of their most valuable assets.
Leipzig remain in a strong negotiating position. Diomande is under contract until 2030, meaning the German club are under no financial pressure to sell and can demand a premium fee.
One of the biggest developments in the negotiations is the player's reported willingness to join Real Madrid.
While PSG have already agreed personal terms with Diomande's representatives, sources indicate the winger would welcome a move to the Santiago Bernabéu if the clubs can reach an agreement. That has significantly boosted Madrid's confidence as they attempt to overtake the French champions in the race for his signature.
The player's stance means the transfer now depends largely on negotiations between Real Madrid and RB Leipzig.
Paris Saint-Germain remain serious contenders despite Real Madrid's late intervention.
The French champions have admired Diomande for several months and reportedly secured an agreement with the player before talks with Leipzig reached an impasse.
However, the clubs have yet to agree on a transfer fee, and Leipzig's high valuation has complicated negotiations. The delay has allowed Real Madrid to enter the race with renewed optimism.
Diomande has enjoyed a remarkable rise over the past 18 months.
After moving from Leganés to RB Leipzig in the summer of 2025, the Ivorian winger quickly established himself as one of the Bundesliga's most exciting young attackers. He scored 12 Bundesliga goals in his debut campaign while showcasing blistering pace, direct dribbling and versatility across the front line.
His performances continued on the international stage.
Representing Ivory Coast at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Diomande emerged as one of the tournament's breakout stars, attracting attention from Europe's biggest clubs with a series of mature displays against elite opposition.
