GAROWE (Dawan Africa) Puntland urged donors and other stakeholders to work directly with its administration after saying the terms of Somalia's president and parliament expired.
The decision was made at a Puntland Council of Ministers meeting chaired by Puntland President Said Abdullahi Deni in Garowe.
The meeting discussed Somalia’s security and political situation, particularly relations between Puntland and the Federal Government.

The Council of Ministers said according to its interpretation of provisions in the 2012 Provisional Constitution, President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud’s term ended on May 15, 2026.
Puntland said it no longer recognizes Mohamud as having the legal mandate to exercise the powers of the office of the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia.
The Council also condemned what it described as intimidation, arrests and displacement of Somali citizens in Mogadishu, placing responsibility on President Mohamud.
