June 27, 2026 - The National Police Service (NPS) has launched a manhunt for a robbery suspect who escaped after allegedly robbing a motorcycle rider at gunpoint in Marsabit County.
According to a police statement released on Saturday,the incident was reported on Friday, prompting officers to respond immediately to the scene.
Police found the victim with bruises on both knees and palms, which were sustained during a struggle with the armed suspect.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the suspect had posed as a customer at JJ Centre Stage and hired the motorcycle rider to transport him to the Majengo area.
Upon reaching the destination, the suspect reportedly drew a pistol and robbed the rider of his motorcycle, registration number KMGV 939W. During the confrontation, the suspect dropped a mini Ceska pistol before fleeing with the stolen motorcycle.
Police said they secured the scene and processed it for evidence as investigations got underway.

The recovered firearm and ammunition were taken to Marsabit Police Station, where they have been secured as exhibits to support the investigation.
The NPS said detectives are pursuing critical leads to identify and arrest the suspect while also working to recover the stolen motorcycle.
The police have appealed to members of the public with any information that could assist the investigation to report it to the nearest police station.
