2 June 2026 - OpenAI has announced that its frontier artificial Intelligence models and Codex coding assistant will now be available at Amazon Web Services (AWS), which will see millions of customers integrate advanced AI capabilities in their business operations.
The company says that the move will be key to removing one of the biggest barriers, which is getting frontier AI into production through existing security, compliance, procurement, billing, and governance workflows.
Customers can access the models through Amazon Bedrock and Codex on Amazon Bedrock, according to OpenAI.
OpenAI models on Amazon Bedroc will allow organisations to engineer AI applications using AWS-native security and governance controls.
On the other hand, Codex on Amazon Bedrock will bring Codex into AWS environments to help developers write, review, debug, and modernize code.
“Today, OpenAI frontier models and Codex are generally available on AWS, opening a new path for millions of AWS customers to build with OpenAI through the platform they already use to run their business,” the company stated.
“Customers can now bring OpenAI capabilities into AWS environments with the controls their teams already trust, helping them move faster from evaluation to real deployment,” it added.

The company maintained that making its technology available through AWS will reduce friction around procurement, security review, and production readiness, thus ensuring that organisations spend less time navigating operational barriers.
To expand further the capabilities available through AWS in the future, OpenAI has revealed that it will introduce ‘Daybreak,’ which includes cyber models and Codex Security, to revolutionize how software is built and shielded.
Daybreak is designed to ensure that cybersecurity teams detect risk earlier and strengthen software resilience through features such as secure code reviews, threat modeling, patch validation, dependency risk analysis, detection, and remediation guidance.
“As specialized capabilities like Daybreak become available to customers, AWS can provide an important path for security teams to adopt them using the security, governance, procurement, and operational frameworks they already use,” OpenAI said.
