North East State Police Arrest Seven Suspected Drug Traffickers in Togdheer

Somalia, 24 May 2026 – Police in Somalia’s North East State arrested 7 suspected drug traffickers and seized a stolen motorcycle in a security operation in Togdheer region on Saturday.

Authorities said the seven individuals will be charged in court once investigations are completed.

Fahad Abdikarin, commander of the Buuhoodle district police, said the raids are part of ongoing efforts to curb drug-related and other criminal activities.

He added that similar operations have resulted in the arrest of up to 59 individuals.

Abdikarin announced that the next operation will focus on human traffickers and those involved in illegal migration.

Police thanked local communities for their cooperation and support in enhancing security in the region.
