GALGUDUUD (Dawan Africa) – Somalia’s National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA), with support from international partners, says its forces carried out a targeted operation in Ceel-dhiiqo Weyne, located between Ceel-lahelay and Ceel-garas in Galguduud region.
According to NISA, 12 al-Shabaab members, including senior commanders, were killed, while 13 others were seriously injured. The raid targeted a key base where militants were reportedly preparing more than 400 fighters for future attacks.
Officials said weapons and coordination facilities were destroyed during the operation. “The remnants of the militants are being pursued after fleeing towards Ceelbuur district,” NISA stated.
Independent verification of the casualties and operation details remains limited.
