Kenya, 7 April 2026 - Kenya, 7 April 2026 - The National Museums of Kenya has announced an adjustment in admission fees for museums and other heritage sites across the country, set to take effect on 7 May 2026.
According to a notice dated 7 April 2026, Kenyan and East African citizens visiting the Nairobi National Museum or the snake park will be required to pay KSh 350 and Children KSh 200.
A combined ticket will cost KSh 600 for adults and KSh 300 for children, according to the notice.
Individuals from other African countries will now pay KSh 1,170 for adults and KSh 780 for children, while foreigners, those from outside Africa, will be paying KSh 2,341 for adults and KSh 1,170 for children.
New prices will also take effect at other sites, including the Karen Blixen Museum in Nairobi and Fort Jesus in Mombasa, where East African citizens visiting these sites will pay Ksh550 for adults and KSh 300 for children.
A combined ticket for Fort Jesus Museum and Butterfly House will now go for Ksh650 for adults and Ksh400 for children.

Adults will now pay Ksh 200 for other sites, including the Lamu Fort, Lamu Museum, Swahili House, and German Post Office, and Ksh100 for children. A combined ticket for these four sites will go for KSh 750 for adults and KSh 400 for children.
For other locations such as Tambach, Kakapel, Pate, Nyeri, Shimoni, Songhor, Fort Ternan, and Siyu Fort, adults will pay KSh 100 and children KSh 50.
Other sites listed in the notice include the Meru, Malindi, Kabarnet, Kapenguria, Gede Ruins, Mnarani Ruins, Mtwapa Heritage Site, Kariandusi, Orlorgesaile, Koobi Fora, Thimlich Ohinga, Jumba Ruins, Takwa Ruins, Jomo Kenyatta House, Maralal, Jomo Kenyatta House, Lodwar, and Jomo Kenyatta Prison, Lokitaung, where visitors will pay KSh 200 and KSh 100 for adults.
The National Museums have said that the entry charges for Hyrax Hill and Rabai will remain unchanged until further notice.
The agency has, however, clarified that the operating hours of these facilities remain unchanged, running from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. throughout the week.
