MOGADISHU (Dawan Africa) Somalia’s Military Court has heard a case against five suspects accused of defrauding $35, 477 from eight people via mobile money.
The accused are Abdisalaan Abdullahi Ahmed, who is absent; Mohamed Bashir Yusuf, a member of the Somali National Army who is also absent; Ayub Ahmed Samow; Abdullahi Hussein Osman; and Faysal Dhaqane Elmi.
Abdirahman Mustafe was previously mentioned in the case, but investigators said his file would be submitted separately to the court. Prosecutors said they had withdrawn the charge related to $240.

Prosecutors said investigators managed to recover $9,900, while $914 remained in phone numbers allegedly used by the accused.
The syndicate involved the use of multiple SIM cards, of which 47 were seized and form part of the evidence presented in court.
Prosecutors also said there are other funds allegedly linked to other accused individuals, which they are still pursuing.
