Kenya, May 28, 2026 - Tech giant Meta has launched new subscription plans across WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram, introducing advanced features for users under a new brand called “Meta One.”
The company clarified that the apps will remain free to use, with the subscription plans targeting users who want access to additional premium features and customization tools.
Under the rollout, Instagram Plus and Facebook Plus subscriptions will each cost $3.99 per month (about KSh517), while WhatsApp Plus will cost $2.99 per month (about KSh387).
The subscriptions will unlock features such as profile customization, super reactions, advanced story insights, and extended story visibility beyond the standard 24-hour limit.
Users will also gain access to preview modes that allow them to view other users’ stories without appearing on viewer lists, alongside additional engagement analytics and personalization tools.
Facebook Plus offers features similar to Instagram Plus, while WhatsApp Plus introduces app themes, custom ringtones, additional pinned chats, premium stickers, and enhanced list customization.
Meta is also piloting Meta One AI plans for heavy AI users. The company has introduced:

These plans will offer features such as verification badges, impersonation protection, advanced link tools, higher visibility in Facebook and Instagram search, enhanced analytics, automatic follow invitations, and team access controls.
Meta is currently testing some of the business-focused plans in Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Thailand and Bangladesh ahead of a broader global rollout.
The move comes as Meta seeks to diversify revenue streams beyond traditional advertising while giving power users, creators and businesses more advanced tools across its platforms.
