OBOCK, Djibouti 30 September 2026 - Mattresses, sheets, tents and school supplies have been delivered to Obock in northern Djibouti to support Yemenis displaced by the conflict who recently arrived in the area, the Djibouti News Agency reported Tuesday.
The donation was provided by the Sovereign Carbon Agency (SCA). Its representative, Coranne Abdi Djama, handed over 500 mattresses, 1,000 sheets, 800 bags for women and 100 tents.
SCA said the assistance is intended to improve the living and reception conditions of displaced people in the Obock region.
Part of the aid was allocated to children. Ahmed Araita Ali, Secretary General of the Africa Sovereign Carbon Registry Foundation (ASCRF), distributed school kits to refugee children, highlighting the importance of maintaining access to education during displacement.

The handover ceremony was attended by Obock Prefect Moussa Aden Miganeh, Regional Council President Mohamed Houmed Ismael, and Mohamed Ali Kamil, Executive Secretary of the National Office for Assistance to Refugees and Displaced Persons (ONARS).
Organizers said the operation is part of a government-led solidarity initiative aimed at supporting national efforts to assist vulnerable populations.
SCA also praised the cooperation of local authorities, agencies responsible for receiving refugees and partners involved in the response in Obock.
The agency expressed its gratitude to Djibouti President Ismail Omar Guelleh, as well as AirDjibouti, the Maritime Affairs and Coast Guard authorities, for the logistical support that helped facilitate the delivery of the aid.
