April 24, 2026 - A Mandera-bound aircraft was involved in an accident this morning while attempting to land at the airstrip in Mandera.
The aircraft, an Embraer jet operated by EBB Air and bearing registration number 5Y-EBB, was flying the Nairobi–Mandera route when it reportedly overshot the runway during landing and veered off the airstrip, eventually coming to rest in nearby vegetation.
According to preliminary reports, all passengers and crew on board escaped unharmed.
Emergency response teams were quickly deployed to the scene and are currently managing the situation, with efforts focused on securing the aircraft and ensuring the safety of everyone involved.
