Kenya, 26 August 2026 - Veteran politician Maimuna Osman Gabow has received what is being described as a significant endorsement from the Ajuran Nation in Beramo Town, Wajir North Constituency as she gathers support to vie for Wajir Woman Representative seat.
The endorsement is a development that could add a new dimension to the political arithmetic of Wajir county ahead of the 2027 elections.
Having contested in the 2022 General Election, Maimuna Osman appears to be recalibrating her political strategy as she positions herself for the Women Representative race in 2027.
The latest endorsement is being viewed by political observers as an important signal from the Ajuran community and a potentially consequential moment in the emerging race.
A familiar figure in Wajir politics and the wider Ajuran political landscape, Maimuna has spoken of a leadership agenda centred on service, integrity and inclusivity, while distancing herself from divisive clan-based politics.
