UK, August 27, 2026 - Liverpool have reached a verbal agreement with Paris Saint-Germain for Bradley Barcola, bringing the Reds to the brink of completing their long-running pursuit of the France international winger.
The breakthrough represents the culmination of weeks of negotiations, with Liverpool identifying Barcola as their top attacking target and refusing to abandon the deal despite PSG's initially enormous valuation.
According to the latest reports, the agreement is worth around €116 million (£100 million) guaranteed, with performance-related add-ons capable of taking the total package to approximately €140 million (£120 million). David Ornstein has also reported an agreement in principle between the two clubs.
The remaining work involves finalising documentation, with the clubs expected to exchange the necessary paperwork before Barcola completes his move to Anfield.
Liverpool Finally Get Their Man#
Barcola has been Liverpool's preferred target for the left-wing position throughout much of the summer.
The 23-year-old had already indicated that he was open to leaving PSG and joining Liverpool, while reports suggested personal terms were not expected to present a major obstacle. PSG had initially valued their winger at around £145 million, but negotiations eventually produced a compromise significantly below that figure.
The Frenchman has also reportedly fallen down the pecking order at PSG, making a departure increasingly plausible.
His decision to seek a new challenge comes after an impressive period in Paris. Barcola has established himself as a France international and played an important role in PSG's recent success, including their consecutive Champions League triumphs.
For Liverpool, this is much more than another transfer.
The club are undergoing a significant attacking rebuild following Mohamed Salah's departure, and Barcola has been viewed as one of the players capable of helping fill the enormous creative void left by the Egyptian superstar.
Liverpool had also pursued Brighton's Yankuba Minteh, but two offers were rejected, including a reported £60 million proposal. Brighton subsequently placed an £80 million valuation on the Gambian winger.

Barcola therefore represents Liverpool's biggest statement yet in their attempt to rebuild the forward line.
Barcola's greatest strengths are his pace, dribbling, direct running and ability to attack defenders one-on-one.
He is predominantly a left winger but has enough versatility to operate across the frontline, giving Liverpool's new manager Andoni Iraola additional tactical flexibility.
At 23, he also fits Liverpool's desire to recruit players capable of delivering immediately while still having significant room for development.
If the full €140 million package is eventually triggered, Barcola would become one of the most expensive players in Liverpool's history.
The guaranteed €116 million fee alone would represent an enormous investment, while the potential add-ons demonstrate the scale of PSG's expectations.
For Liverpool, however, the deal represents the culmination of a strategy that began weeks ago.
Barcola was the priority. Liverpool pursued him relentlessly. PSG eventually compromised.
With the verbal agreement now in place, the French winger is expected to complete the final formalities before becoming a Liverpool player.
The Reds have finally secured their top target, and if the deal is completed as expected, Barcola could become one of the defining signings of Liverpool's new era.
