Somalia 30 June 2026 – Likenew Smart Laundry has launched a laundry service in Mogadishu, allowing customers drop off and pick up their clothes and shoes at service points at any time.
The new service, known as Likenew Smart Lockers, operates through the company’s mobile application. It enables customers to request a drop-off or pick-up service directly from the system without having to wait for staff or receive direct assistance at the service center.
When a customer arrives at the center, they use the Likenew App and select whether they want to drop off or pick up laundry. The system then assigns them a numbered locker, where they can either place their clothes or collect items that have already been cleaned.
The clothes or shoes placed in the lockers are monitored by the company’s operations team, who collect them, clean them, and return them to the customer’s designated locker. The system is designed to make the service easier, safer, and more convenient for customers with limited time.
The new service removes the previous challenge of fixed operating hours. Likenew previously operated from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., but the Smart Lockers now give customers access to laundry services 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Company officials said the new system will particularly support busy customers who may not always have time to drop off or collect their laundry during regular working hours.

The Smart Lockers service is also expected to benefit customers who live far from the company’s main branches, as Likenew plans to install similar service points in different districts of the Banadir region. This will allow customers to drop off clothes or shoes at nearby locations while receiving the same service time and pricing as at the company’s main centers.
The new service is part of the company’s wider effort to modernize garment care services in Somalia.
The launch ceremony was attended by the Director General of the Somali Data Protection Authority, Mohamed Nur Colow, who praised the company’s modern system and its attention to customer data protection.
Colow said Likenew had addressed an important need in the country by helping transform garment care services into a digital system that aligns with modern standards.
Likenew’s Chief Executive Officer, Ahmed Bashir Osman, said the company’s goal is not limited to laundry services, but is also focused on introducing a new concept in Somalia that makes garment care easier, safer, more modern, and closer to customers.
