Djibouti, 23 April 2026 Kuwait’s Emir Sheikh Meshaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah congratulated Djibouti’s President Ismail Omar Guelleh on his re-election, state news agency ADI reported on Wednesday.
The message was sent following Guelleh’s victory in the April 10 presidential election, according to ADI, which said congratulatory messages continue to be received by Djibouti’s presidency.
Kuwait’s Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah also sent a similar message, the report said.

ADI said Djibouti had received additional congratulations from international leaders, including Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega and Vice President Rosario Murillo.
Guelleh secured a new term after winning the presidential vote earlier this month, with the country’s Constitutional Council validating the results.
Djibouti has maintained diplomatic ties with regional and international partners, and officials say such messages reflect ongoing relations with allied countries.
