Kenya, October 19, 2026 - Kenya will provide eight training venues for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations as preparations move into a critical phase. The venues are spread across key facilities in Nairobi, with supporting sites also identified for referees, media and broadcasting.
Two training grounds will be located at the Kenya Academy of Sports, three at Talanta, two at the Kasarani annexes, and one at the Police Sacco facility. Ulinzi Complex and Nyayo Stadium have been designated as bases for match officials. Each main stadium will be supported by four training venues for the teams in the two groups.
Work is progressing at different rates across the sites. The two pitches at the Kenya Academy of Sports are currently being levelled, with grass planting scheduled to begin this week.
The water system at the facility is also being completed. At Kasarani, the two annexes will receive an additional set of floodlights. The three training grounds at Talanta City Stadium are expected to be finished alongside the main stadium, with organisers expressing confidence in the timeline.

Ulinzi Complex requires a new playing surface, while the Police Sacco venue needs only limited work. Nyayo Stadium is already considered ready for use by referees.
Eldoret has been listed as an alternative match venue, though it is not expected to host any games. The Bomas of Kenya will serve as the International Broadcast Centre and the Main Media Centre, hosting all pre-match press conferences for matches played in Nairobi.
Hotels are not expected to present any challenges. The overall deadline for completion is 31 December 2026, with CAF officials scheduled to carry out a final inspection in January 2027. Officials involved in the preparations say that as long as contractors continue to receive timely payments, the work should stay on schedule.
