Kenya, 8 October 2026 - Music artist John Matara on Thursday appeared at the Milimani High Court, where he defended himself in the case in which he is charged with murdering socialite Starlet Wahu.
Matara allegedly committed the murder on 3 January 2024 at an Airbnb in South B, Nairobi.
Defence lawyers Samuel Ayora and James Mochere asked Justice Alexander Muteti to acquit their client for lack of evidence. However, prosecuting counsel Solomon Naulikha urged the judge to convict Matara.
Matara appeared in court with trimmed hair, unlike on previous occasions when he had dreadlocks.
Starlet was a sister to Victor Kanyari who came to limelight with his '210 Seed'.
