Djibouti (Dawan) – The Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) expressed deep concern over violence in Mogadishu, urging political leaders to return to dialogue.
IGAD condemned all acts of violence and urged Somali political actors to exercise restraint, reduce tensions, and seek a peaceful, inclusive resolution to the ongoing disputes.
"At this critical moment, preserving peace, stability, national unity, and the gains made in Somalia’s state building efforts is of paramount importance, “ IGAD's Executive Secretary, Workneh Gebeyehu, said in a statement.

“IGAD urges all stakeholders to place the interests of the Somali people first and to pursue peaceful solutions through dialogue and consensus, Gebeyehu added.
The organization reaffirmed its support for Somalia and expressed readiness to assist in peace and reconciliation efforts.
