Mogadishu, 21 October 2026 – Idman Community Bank has concluded a financial literacy training programme for 30 women entrepreneurs who have benefited from the bank’s financing services.
The training, which ran for three months, focused on improving financial management, saving and small business growth. The aim was to help the women make the best use of the financing they received and develop their businesses.
Maryan Ali Hassan, from Idman Community Bank’s Investment Department, said the training is part of the bank’s efforts to strengthen the financial literacy and business skills of its customers.
“The bank is not limited to providing financial services and financing; it is also committed to supporting the progress of entrepreneurs and building their knowledge so they can achieve sustainable growth,” she said.
Idman Community Bank said it is committed to supporting small businesses led by women, strengthening their economic capacity and boosting the community’s economy.

Safiyo Ahmed Aliin, one of the women entrepreneurs who took part in the training, said she benefited from learning about record-keeping, saving and understanding how the bank works.
She said she previously managed her household money and business money in one place. She has now learned that household funds, savings and financing repayments should each be kept separate.
“I have now benefited from many things that were hidden from me,” Safiyo said.
The training is an example of how Somali banks have begun pairing financing with training, so that customers gain the knowledge to manage the money they borrow and grow their businesses sustainably.
