Mogadishu, Aug. 16, 2026 — Hormuud Salaam Foundation, the charitable arm of Hormuud Telecom, has donated a modern ICT laboratory and 34 computers to Somali National University to strengthen technology education and improve students’ digital skills.
The laboratory, established at the university’s Gaheyr campus, was officially inaugurated by the Minister of Education, Farah Sheikh Abdulkadir; the President of Somali National University, Dr. Mohamed Mahmoud Mohamed; and the Chairman of Hormuud Salaam Foundation, Abdullahi Nur Osman.
The new facility is equipped with 34 computers, interactive touchscreen boards, audio equipment and other essential tools for ICT-based education and training.
The Somali National University administration said the laboratory will contribute significantly to improving teaching and learning, while providing students with greater opportunities to gain practical experience in the use of modern technology.

The Minister of Education and the University President thanked Hormuud Salaam Foundation for its support, noting that investment in digital education infrastructure is important for the advancement of higher education in Somalia.
Chairman of Hormuud Salaam Foundation, Abdullahi Nur Osman, said the donation is part of the foundation’s continued efforts to support education and expand access to digital learning and skills for Somali youth.
