JOWHAR, 4 October 2026 Political parties that contested elections in Hirshabelle have accepted results announced by the National Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission, the Hirshabelle Presidency said.
President Ali Abdullahi Hussein Gudlawe hosted a dinner at the presidential palace on Saturday night for commission members, officials from political parties that took part in the elections, federal MPs who were in Jowhar on election day and other guests.
According to the presidency, officials from the political groups thanked authorities for the peaceful and orderly conduct of the vote and accepted the results.Gudlawe said he was pleased elections were held peacefully across Hirshabelle and praised security agencies for protecting members of the public who took part.

“I am very pleased that the elections were held peacefully across Hirshabelle. I commend the security agencies for the responsible manner in which they secured the safety of members of the public who stood in long queues to cast their votes,” he said.
National Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission Chairman Abdikarim Ahmed Hassan praised the people and Hirshabelle administration for facilitating the public elections held across 10 districts, saying the process had concluded peacefully.
Abdikarim also thanked the political parties for accepting results announced for the local council and Hirshabelle House of Representatives elections.
