ALAMEIN, Egypt, 3 October 2026 — Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud highlighted investment opportunities in Somalia at the Alamein-Africa Business Forum, calling on African and international businesses and investors to help drive economic growth in the country, Villa Somalia said.
The president spoke about global economic and political developments, stressing the importance of cooperation and economic integration among African countries.
Hassan Sheikh said Somalia is a country rebuilding and reforming its economy and is open to trade and investment.
“Somalia is not only a country recovering from conflict; it is a country rebuilding and reforming its economy. We are open to trade and investment, and we welcome anyone who is ready to build with us,” he said.

The president called on African businesses, companies and international investors to take advantage of investment opportunities in Somalia, saying productive investment is important for creating jobs, growing the economy and achieving sustainable development.
Hassan Sheikh also said Africa’s economic future would depend on stronger cooperation and investment, with countries across the continent working together to develop trade, infrastructure, financing and market connectivity.
The Alamein-Africa Business Forum was attended by heads of state, ministers, business leaders, investors and financial institutions from across Africa.
