Djibouti(Mogadishu24)-A high-profile ministerial delegation from Ethiopia, including the Minister of Finance Ahmed Shide and the Minister of Foreign Affairs Taye Atske Selassie, visited Djibouti's Doraleh Multi-Purpose Port to enhance bilateral trade relations and observe the import-export flow of Ethiopian cargoes, particularly fertilizer.
Ethiopian Ambassador to Djibouti, Berhanu Tsegaye, accompanied the delegation and highlighted the significance of the visit.
The visit underscored the strategic importance of Djibouti’s port facilities in facilitating Ethiopia's trade, given that Djibouti handles the majority of Ethiopia’s maritime trade. The delegation's tour aimed to strengthen logistical and transport links, ensuring the efficient movement of goods between the two countries.
Doraleh Port, recognized as East Africa's leading maritime and logistics hub, plays a crucial role in the region's economy. The port's multi-purpose capabilities are vital for handling various types of cargo, contributing significantly to the import and export activities of Ethiopia.
This visit marks a step forward in the ongoing efforts to bolster economic cooperation between Ethiopia and Djibouti, fostering stronger trade ties and enhancing regional integration.
