Ethiopia, 6 November 2025 — Ethiopia’s Foreign Minister Gedion Timotheos has called on Russian companies to expand investments in agriculture, manufacturing, information technology, and energy, including nuclear and renewable energy projects, reaffirming his country’s commitment to building long-term strategic partnerships with Moscow in these vital sectors.
The call came during high-level discussions held by Minister Timotheos, alongside Finance Minister Ahmed Shide, with Maxim Oreshkin, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Russian Presidential Administration, and Maxim Reshetnikov, Russia’s Minister of Economic Development.
The talks focused on ways to deepen bilateral cooperation in the fields of industry, energy, and infrastructure.
Timotheos emphasized that Ethiopia aims to benefit from Russia’s expertise in heavy industry, mineral development, and fertilizer production, which he said would support the country’s industrialization efforts and enhance energy self-sufficiency.
