Eritrea, 7 June 2026 – Eritrean President Isaias Afwerki traveled to Cairo on Sunday for a three-day official visit, where he is scheduled to meet Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, according to Eritrea’s Minister of Information, Yemane Gebremeskel.
The discussions will focus on strengthening bilateral ties, including economic cooperation and other areas of mutual interest.
Both leaders are expected to review regional security issues in the Horn of Africa, maritime safety in the Red Sea, and ongoing developments in the Middle East.
