12 November, 2025 - CAIRO, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has expressed his condolences to President William Ruto and the people of Kenya following the deadly landslides that struck parts of the country early November.
According to Al-Ahram Online and other Egyptian media outlets, President El-Sisi made a phone call to his Kenyan counterpart, offering sympathy and solidarity with the families who lost loved ones and those affected by the disaster.
At least 26 people were confirmed dead and more than 20 others reported missing after heavy rains triggered landslides in Kenya’s western Rift Valley region on November 1. Homes, roads, and farmlands were destroyed, leaving many families displaced and communities in mourning.
“El-Sisi affirmed Egypt’s full solidarity with Kenya during this difficult time,” said Presidential Spokesperson Ahmed Fahmy, adding that the Egyptian leader conveyed his government’s readiness to support Kenya in its recovery efforts.
