August 14, 2026 - Garissa Senator Abdul Haji has vowed to end the political influence of Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale, accusing the former Garissa lawmaker of targeting and fighting his family for years.
Speaking during his meeting with the Abokor cade family of the larger Aulihan clan, Haji said for the last three years the former leader of majority in the national assembly has been fighting them but chose to run to his backyard when they responded.
He said last time when he responded to his constant attacks, he told his kins that I was fighting them emphasizing that he is only fighting him but not a whole community.
“I am only fighting with one individual and not a whole community, for the last three years he has been fighting us Haji family, we have not said anything or going back to my clan for support,” senator said.
Abdul Haji who has been campaigning for Garissa gubernatorial seat has been in a fierce political battle with CS Aden Duale, Duale recently told gatherings that those fighting him would end up in Mosques and Madrasa since he has been in the forefront supporting Islamic issues.
The former Garissa township lawmaker said towards 2027 general elections, the kitchen becomes hot and those who will withstand it will remain, adding that those attacking should brace for fierce political battle.
However, Haji told the CS to keep religious matters out of politics adding that he has been interfering in all political formations in all clans within Garissa County including his Abduwak backyard.

“He is so envious and he has been interfering with my Samawathal clan, he is the one who sponsored to have another sultan, he is also interfering with Aulihan, he has gone ahead to Wajir and Mandera,” Haji said.
The senator said this time things will not be the same they will fight him to the end.
The gubernatorial aspirants have been in a charming political offensive in Aulihan where a preferred candidate for the council of elders, Shidiye who is from Aulihan has his eyes set for the gubernatorial position.
Other candidates who have declared their interest include former Governor Ali Korane, former PS Abdiqani Fedhow, former Ijara Member of parliament Ahmed Ibrahim Abass and Moulid Shurie former Warma boss.
