MOGADISHU, October 1, 2026 Dr. Sumait Hospital has trained 23 pharmacists in a three-day workshop held from September 21 to 23, 2026, as part of its celebrations for World Pharmacist Day 2026.
The workshop focused on strengthening the role of pharmacists in three key areas: medicine management, patient care and public health. The training aimed to expand pharmacists' contribution beyond dispensing medicines, positioning them as an active part of the healthcare team.
World Pharmacist Day is marked every year on September 25 to recognise the contribution of pharmacists to improving health around the world. The day was established by the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP).
