Djibouti, 1 September 2026 Djibouti's commerce minister met traders Monday to warn against the sale of expired food products.
Minister of Commerce and Tourism Orbiss Helaf Orbiss met importers, wholesalers and traders to discuss obligations of businesses and health risks to consumers, the Djibouti News Agency reported.
Orbiss stressed rules on storage and preservation of food and called on traders to remove expired or unsafe goods from the market, ADI said.

The talks also covered responsibilities of actors in the food supply chain, with the minister urging greater vigilance.
The meeting ended with a commitment to strengthen cooperation between authorities and businesses on food safety, ADI reported.
