DJIBOUTI, 28 September 2026 Djibouti on Sunday called for de-escalation in Ethiopia and urged that disputes be resolved through dialogue, warning that renewed conflict could undermine the country’s development and regional economic integration.
The Djibouti News Agency (ADI) reported that Djibouti was closely monitoring the situation in Ethiopia and reiterated its commitment to peace and stability in the Horn of Africa.
“Djibouti, committed to peace and stability in the Horn of Africa, calls for de-escalation and the resolution of disputes through dialogue,” the statement said.
Djibouti said it regretted the return of conflict, describing it as a major source of suffering for civilians and a source of instability that could hinder Ethiopia’s development and regional economic integration.
