Djibouti(Mogadishu24)-Djibouti’s Minister of Education, Moustapha Mohamed Mohamoud, met with U.S. Ambassador to Djibouti, Jonathan Kierscht, on Monday to discuss strengthening educational cooperation, with a focus on expanding English language programs and improving literacy outcomes in Djibouti.
In a statement shared by the U.S. Embassy, the ambassador expressed pride in the partnership with Djibouti’s Ministry of National Education and Vocational Training (@MenfopDjibouti) and emphasized the U.S. commitment to supporting Djibouti’s youth.
Djibouti, where French, Somali, and Afar are primarily spoken, is actively working to integrate English into its education system, recognizing the language's role in enhancing educational and professional opportunities for future generations.
