DJIBOUTI, July 21 2026 – Djibouti has reviewed four agricultural investment proposals under a World Bank-backed programme aimed at strengthening the country's agri-food sector, the state-run Djiboutian News Agency ( (ADI) reported on Tuesday.
According to ADI, Agriculture Minister Radwan Abdillahi Bahdon chaired a meeting of the selection committee for the Resilient Agri-Food Value Chains Support Project (FAR), which examined proposals submitted by investors from Ali Sabieh, Dikhil and Djibouti City.
The proposals cover integrated agro-pastoral development, livestock and fodder production, fruit and vegetable production and processing, and the manufacture of infant food products, ADI said.
The minister said the initiative supports the objectives of Vision Djibouti 2035, which identifies food security, agricultural modernisation and the development of a competitive agri-food industry among the country's priorities.

ADI said the FAR project is financed with $15 million from the World Bank's International Development Association (IDA) and is intended to strengthen priority agri-food value chains through climate-resilient infrastructure and technical and financial support for private investors.
Project documentation published by the World Bank describes the programme as supporting agri-food investment, climate resilience and access to financing.
According to ADI, Bahdon called on committee members to assess the proposals using technical, economic, financial, social and environmental criteria established under the programme.
