Djibouti (Dawan Africa) – Djibouti police said they extinguished a fire on Thursday morning at the General Information and Immigration Directorate.
A statement issued by the Directorate of the National Police said the fire started at around 10:00 a.m. Preliminary investigations indicated that it was caused by an electrical fault.
Police officers at the facility responded quickly putting out the fire using fire extinguishers. The police said the fire was brought under control before firefighters arrived at the scene.

Teams from the electricity company EDD and police electricians later arrived to secure the electrical system and replace defective wiring.
Police informed the public that passport collection services would resume as usual on Sunday, starting at 8:00 a.m.
