Djibouti, 16 September 2025 – Djibouti has launched an innovation programme aimed at making its growing youthful population competitive in the job market.
The initiative dubbed ‘Djibouti Innovation Programme 2025’ was launched on Monday by the Ministry of Digital Economy and Innovation and attended by senior government officials and representatives from partner countries.
According to the Ministry, the program aims to strengthen innovation and digital entrepreneurship among Djiboutian youth.
It is being implemented by the Ministry of Digital Economy and Innovation, the Leadership and Business Center (CLE), and international partners including the World Bank.
The initiative will provide young people with opportunities to transform their ideas into concrete business ventures, contributing to the growth of the digital economy in the region.
World Bank’s Country Representative in Djibouti, Fatou Fall, reaffirmed the Bank’s commitment to supporting Djibouti’s youth.
“The World Bank is committed to supporting the efforts of the Government of Djibouti in developing economic infrastructure and promoting youth innovation,” she said during the ceremony.
The Ministry expressed confidence that the program will achieve its ultimate goal of creating a platform where young people can turn innovative ideas into viable projects, particularly in the fields of technology, entrepreneurship, and job creation.
