Djibouti 27 August 2026 - Djibouti's Labour Minister Yonis Ali Guedi met with young people on Wednesday to discuss barriers to employment and training, the Djibouti Information Agency (ADI) reported.
Guedi visited the National Institute of Public Administration (INAP), where young people raised difficulties in finding work, accessing training and transitioning into professional careers.
Discussions focused on obstacles to professional integration, gaps between skills acquired and employers' requirements, and guidance available to jobseekers.

Guedi said the government must take young people's experiences into account when designing employment and training policies, aiming to strengthen employability and align programmes with business needs, ADI reported.
He was accompanied by officials from the National Agency for Employment, Training and Professional Integration (ANEFIP) and INAP, as well as a representative of the U.N. Economic Commission for Africa.
A World Bank analysis based on Djibouti's first nationally representative labour force survey found that 46.2% of 16-to-24-year-olds were not in employment, education or training during the first two quarters of 2025, highlighting challenges in the transition from education to work.
