DJIBOUTI, 7 October 2026 Djibouti’s National Gendarmerie has arrested a man suspected of possessing and exchanging child sexual abuse material, with investigators identifying eight social media accounts allegedly controlled by him, state news agency ADI reported on Tuesday.
The investigation was conducted by digital specialists from the gendarmerie’s Research and Documentation Section (SRD) as part of efforts to combat online child sexual exploitation, ADI said.
Preliminary findings indicated that the suspect belonged to several online groups comprising nearly 1,000 users based abroad, the agency said. Images and videos of child sexual abuse circulated in those groups, according to the report.
An examination of seized digital assets led investigators to identify the eight accounts. ADI did not specify how many of those accounts were allegedly used to exchange the abuse material.
