Djibouti, 5 July 2026 – Djibouti congratulated the United States on the 250th anniversary of its independence, reaffirming longstanding diplomatic, economic and security ties between the two countries.
In a message issued on Saturday, Djibouti President Ismail Omar Guelleh extended congratulations to U.S. President Donald Trump and the American people on the historic occasion.
Guelleh said Djibouti and the United States share a longstanding partnership built on cooperation and mutual interests.
He described the United States as a global model of development and highlighted the strong relationship between the two countries across strategic sectors.
The Djiboutian president said economic cooperation and collaboration in energy development remain key pillars of bilateral relations.
