Egypt 28 September 2025 - Djibouti Ports Authority chairman Abukar Omar Hadi met with Egypt’s Deputy Prime Minister Kamel El-Wazir in Cairo on Friday to review previously signed projects in transport, logistics and energy.
According to Djibouti Ports and Free Zones Authority (DPFZA) the talks held in Cairo were also attended by Djibouti’s Ambassador to Egypt, Ahmed Ali Barreh.
Projects discussed included new maritime infrastructure, road, solar and wind energy projects, and a 10-hectare logistics zone within the Djibouti International Free Trade Zone.
The authority added that a regional branch of the Arab Academy would be set up in Djibouti to support training.
“This meeting is a step toward strengthening bilateral cooperation and advancing regional integration,” the DPFZA said in a statement posted on X.
Djibouti, located at the Horn of Africa’s maritime crossroads, has expanded infrastructure to boost its role as a logistics hub in Eastern Africa.
