DJIBOUTI, 22 October 2026 Djibouti’s social development agency (ADDS) signed funding agreements worth about $112,000 on Thursday with 15 community associations for local projects, the Djibouti News Agency (ADI) reported.
The associations won the third call for proposals under the Community Development Fund, part of the Integrated Urban Development Project (PDUI2 Ter), ADI said. The 20 million Djiboutian francs allocated will finance 15 sub-projects, each run by an association from the programme’s areas of operation.
The fund is financed by the French Development Agency (AFD) and run by ADDS with the Balbala municipality, according to ADDS. The agency said earlier that the call covers the Layabley and Moustiquaire neighbourhoods of Balbala.
The fund aims to support local initiatives and strengthen residents’ participation in developing their neighbourhoods, ADI said.
