Somalia, 30 April 2026 – Dawan Media, a leading Somali media platform, today announced the official launch of “Daryeel,” the first dedicated Somali-language health podcast, hosted by distinguished pediatrician and public health leader Dr. Ubah Farah.
The weekly podcast delivers evidence-based health education, expert interviews, and culturally grounded conversations designed to empower Somali families with reliable medical information in their own language.
The word “Daryeel” — meaning “care” in Somali — reflects the program’s mission: to bridge the gap between medical expertise and everyday households by providing accessible, accurate, and actionable health guidance.
Each episode addresses topics ranging from maternal and child health, immunization, nutrition, and mental wellness to chronic disease prevention, reproductive health, and emerging public health concerns affecting Somali communities at home and abroad.
“For too long, life-saving health information has been out of reach for many Somali families because of language barriers and limited access to trusted sources. Daryeel is built to change that. Our goal is simple: to make every Somali household a healthier one through knowledge, conversation, and care.”— Dr. Ubah Farah, Host of Daryeel
