Kenya, 1 June 2026 - Coca-Cola has stepped up its battle for Kenya's fast-growing energy drinks market, taking its newly launched Charged beverage directly to consumers across the Mt Kenya region through a series of high-profile roadshows and product activations.
The beverage giant has been criss-crossing towns in Nyeri, Meru, Embu, Kirinyaga and Murang’a counties, offering free samples of the sparkling caffeinated drink while entertaining residents with music, dance competitions and interactive games.
The campaign has drawn thousands of participants, including farmers, traders, boda boda riders, transport operators and young entrepreneurs, underlining the economic significance of the Mt Kenya region and its reputation as one of the country's most industrious business hubs.
Coca-Cola said the activations are aimed at introducing Charged to consumers and strengthening the company's engagement with communities whose livelihoods depend on long working hours and high levels of productivity.
The new beverage, available in lemon and pineapple flavours, targets consumers seeking both refreshment and an energy boost as they go about their daily activities.
Speaking during the product launch, Coca-Cola Kenya Director of Frontline Marketing Monique Katana said the company developed Charged in response to changing consumer lifestyles and evolving tastes.
“We are seeing strong interest from consumers who want bold flavours and something refreshing to keep them going as they work, travel and run their businesses,” said Ms Katana.
She noted that the beverage was designed to match the needs of consumers looking for a refreshing drink that also delivers an energising boost during demanding workdays.

The rollout comes as beverage manufacturers intensify competition for Kenya's youthful and increasingly mobile consumer market, where demand for energy and functional drinks continues to rise.
Coca-Cola Beverages Africa in Kenya General Manager James Bowmaker said the company remains committed to introducing innovative products that resonate with changing consumer preferences.
“Charged offers consumers a refreshing sparkling drink experience with bold flavours tailored for today’s fast-paced lifestyles,” said Mr Bowmaker.
The company has positioned the new drink as a product for consumers constantly on the move, including entrepreneurs, transport operators and workers seeking a convenient source of refreshment and energy.
Charged is currently available in 330ml bottles through supermarkets, wholesale outlets and retail shops across the country as Coca-Cola expands its footprint in Kenya's competitive beverage market.
